To our valued patients
Changes to billing – Pension card holders

The federal government Medicare rebate for services provided by General Practitioners has not increased in step with the ever-increasing costs of running a General Practice and providing high quality services to you.   The costs of running a General Practice has more than doubled in recent times.

As a result, we wish to inform you that from the 22/08/22, Pension card holders will be no longer be bulk billed and a nominal fee will be applied. In exceptional circumstances, your treating GP may waive this fee.

Doctors at Calamvale Medical Centre will continue to Bulk Bill:

  • School aged children (Monday to Friday 8am to 445pm)
  • DVA card holders

The Doctors practising at Calamvale Medical Centre recognise this may place a financial burden on you, and a concessional fee may be applied.

Example: Standard consultation fee

Pensioner $62.00 (out of pocket = $22.25) Private Patient $80.00 (out of pocket = $40.25)

Pension card holders may be bulk-billed for:

  • Dressing changes
